Who We Are
Flaming Pear Catering is a small business with big ideas. The "we" in Flaming Pear is "me", Aileen Wrothwell. I founded the company in 2009, when, after years of cooking for loved ones, I finally set up a business to share the goodness beyond my friends and family. Before I knew it, people were requesting catfish, fried chicken, macaroni & cheese, cakes, pies, casseroles, pot pies, parmesans, tamale pies, and a jillion other dishes. Because most of the folks I know are people who know good food, I soon realized two important facts:
1. Folks need great food.
2. I love this work.
Why We Are
People need to eat! And in an Aha! moment, I realized that folks want a combination of food, abundance, beauty, love, passion, atmosphere—all at once. Seems as unlikely as, say, a pear on fire. But it is possible. And that's the realm I work in: unlikely possibility.
While folks need to eat, they sometimes don’t always know what they want or how to ask for it. Cooking is what I do for a living. I love what I do and it shows. Translating love into food for diverse groups is my specialty. Working with you to turn your ideas into a feast is my passion. We’ll work with you to create a menu, and we can also help you to coordinate servers, linens, china, glassware, and flatware. Your guests will feel cared for and tended, and when we’re done, you will look like a superstar.
I also intimately understand from my own experience what it means to throw a truly fabulous event. Flaming Pear exists to help great people throw great parties for one guest to two hundred.
